Located in the heart of Central Texas, Social House was created to be more than just a space. We’re a place where people come together; whether to celebrate a wedding, host a workshop, or attend a public gathering that feels like home.
Our venue combines thoughtful design, indoor and outdoor flexibility, and a team committed to making your experience feel effortless and welcoming. We believe in clear pricing, generous inclusions, and creating space for connection; without all the usual stress.
Mike & Val McKenzie are longtime Waco residents with a shared love for bringing people together. Both Baylor University graduates, Mike and Val have deep roots in the community, with Mike having proudly played football during his time at Baylor.
At the heart of Social House is their vision to create more than a venue—it’s a place where people feel known, welcomed, and at home.
Built with community in mind, Social House was designed to be Waco’s premier setting for meaningful private gatherings and thoughtfully curated public events. Mike & Val believe the best moments happen when beautiful spaces meet genuine connection, and their hope is that every event hosted at Social House leaves people feeling a little more connected than when they arrived.

Val McKenzie
Val is a co-owner of Social House alongside her husband, Mike, and oversees private event rentals at the venue. She’s a Waco native, a Baylor graduate, and a mom of three—Kylie, Kenna, and Kamp. Val brings a steady, thoughtful presence to Social House and cares deeply about creating a welcoming environment for meaningful gatherings, from weddings and showers to corporate events.

Vanessa leads public and curated events at Social House, shaping experiences designed to bring people together in intentional and welcoming ways. A Baylor graduate and mom of four, she approaches events with a deep appreciation for connection, creativity, and hospitality. As Val’s sister, Vanessa shares the same heart for community and helps bring Social House’s public events to life—whether that’s a dinner, gathering, or experience meant to help people feel like they belong.
